The Beans

I am sitting in the garden on a warm summer's day

This year very few have been coming our way.
Yet, just over there, I am growing some beans,

which somehow are growing by their very own means!

I watch very closely, a tendril springs out,

The spirals they make, turn the same way about

Continually, reaching and turning their way

Taking maximum light, even on a dull day.

The pattern continues, we don’t usually see

How nature moves forward, a plant, then a tree!

It all moves so quickly, an hour, day, year,

Now it is gone,  just then it was here!
